This was a great and long day of hiking. I took (way too much) time to fine tune these photos and am finally pleased with the results.

This hike made me feel like I was back home. We experienced almost every weather system imaginable.
The morning was fairly easy, but with a steep incline towards the latter stages.
Some of the pathways on the way there were incredibly unique. This section I loved, but the clouds in the sky began to loom and I rushed off to catch up with my group.
This is my first real attempt at a slow shutter speed in daylight. While I love the outcome, the fiddly nature of the setup means I may not frequent this type of photo.
We continued up the stream after our brief pause at the waterfall.
The pathways progressively narrowed but I was convinced that the view at the top was going to be worth it.
I had to take this quickly because people were coming from both directions. I loved how the colour of the rocks changed at the different altitudes.
I found a small outcropping of rocks that I could perch upon. I’m glad I did because I feel this shows the interesting pattern that weathering and time have created.
To the left you can see the dark clouds creeping in. It was as if the weather knew exactly when to turn.
The beauty of clouds is they create a wonderful soft light. This photo was taken in the minute and half that all the light was (relatively) even.
After the weather turned we started to head down the mountain. I was able to photograph the rain falling down on the lake in the background with a tree hanging precariously over the edge. One of my favourites from the whole Australia trip.
Our transport, the lovely yellow VW van was down in the green valley below. The rain was coming down harder now and forced us to pick up the pace.
I wasn’t nearly as prepared as I should have been for the rain. Luckily Hike and Seek are great and had a backup plan. I learned a good lesson in being prepared for all eventualities that day.
When we got back down to the car park there were loads of Kangaroo hanging around. This picture is another favourite because of the joey in her pouch.
I feel that this is a geed representation of Australia. 4x4 vehicles, kangaroo, epic environments.
